rang two different vauxhall garages today to get a quote to replace my engine.
The first vaxhall dealer quoted me £1112.70 for a recondition engine (1.4 16v) and for fitting some where between £300-£500. Not too bad i thought!
The rang the second dealership, what a joke! To supply and fit an exchange 1.4 16v engine would cost £2500! I laughed down the phone at the bloke when he said it, and asked if he was joking, he got a little pissed off and told me its a very difficult and labour intensive job, saying that torque ratings needed to be changed and all sorts?!? i told him he hadnt got a clue what he was on about and hung up.
you really cant get better than Vauxhall garages!

why spend that much when you can get a low mile 1.4 16v/ 1.6 16v supplied and fitted for round the 600 mark all in all?
