gasket will be expensive for the same reason everything else on the td engine is expensive. its japanease
cost me £135 for a starter motor, and that was vat free.

£22 for the bolts in the bag (+vat)
=£118
£30 for oil
£6 for filter
£5 for antifreze
£8 for gunk
£4 for rubbing compound

Jap aint always expensive, just depends where you go for your parts.

Its a bastard sourcing jap parts though, need some things replacing on my civic because I ran into the back of someone, quoted £890 for the parts from honda, had a shop around and sourced all the same parts for £260.

Standard one but very good quality Payne one, the other option was £38 but that only listed 1 thickness
