U know button under the wing mirror, no handles?

IS this expensive to do? I dont want handles on my corsa but dont want to rely on a alarm fob for entry, really like this idea, but not sure on how expensive it is and what would i need to do it?

Anyone know much bout them>?

im guessing it just a simple push switch, blended into the underside of the mirror, which is wired up to the central locking system Shouldnt be that hard to do, although i dont know what insurers would say, since it would mean a simple way of getting into the car, plus it isnt very secure

Other way, could be to replace the push switch with a electrical key switch Would offer some security over the push switch, but it still would only take someone a few minutes to get it working again

There are two way to go about this, ones simple, noes hard
Easy one, is to go all electrical, have a solenoi to push the door open and a button (push, lock switch) under the mirror. To add security to this, you wire it up to the alarm, with some circuitry, so when the alarm is armed, you can push the switch etc to unlock the car and fire the solenoid

Hard was is to create a rod that links to the locks of the car. Havnt got a clue how it would work or how you would do it in better detail though

costs about £120 to smooth door handles, you can mod a button in yourself, and sort activation, depending how good you are at leccys.

same probs if power goes, but can be sorted

a had delocked all round on my nova and ran 2 insulated wires outside, and if the battery went i could power the door locks or a slave battery, or jumping cables.

have heard of people putting a secondary battery in the boot which works or a key switch out side, so if power goes you can turn to the other battery. but take too much space and hassle.

if you have a clifford alarm the power wount fail mate.

SO u reckon getting solenoids and linking them to my clifford would be best, i hear MOT testers dont like this as it means no physical way to open doors, i.e in the event of an accident.

Might go back to my original idea of barchetta handles

Not sure if i can be arsed spending £300 on solenoids. Rather spend that on ice or engine.

Check these out... you could use one instead of the button under the wing mirror..
TapLock
They can be stuck to the inside of the pannel instead of the glass.. that wasy, no one will know they're there!!

button on alarm is the same as button on mirror, i wired up a complex circuit to allow button on mirrors, button inside and alarm to open door and boot, passenger door controled off just inside and mirror

when alarm is on, buttons dont work

i use alarm fob mainly as its easier

did the lot myself
