can anyone point out on engine where idle control valve and E.R.G valve is please?

erm this is guna be a stab in the dark as dont know much about 16v's but idle control valve will be near the input manifold somewhere, am sure on mine its under the header tank somewhere

gont know if its egr valve because car runs fine when started sits at high revs(1200) then drops down to 800 once engines heated.would engine management light come on due to needing a service?????

so your ecu light comes on while driving?

the ecu light comes on when a sensor isnt happy with something

yes,car can tick over fine.soon as a drive for a minute it comes on.got a drilled airbox with 2 cold air feeds.think thats fucked up the air/fuel mixture?

rab even with my bfo cone etc..no light on...so wouldn't think it's that m8..

try resetting ecu???????

the car sounds fine, whe i turn mine on it sits at 1200 and drops to 800 once warmed.

ECU light won't come on if the car needs a service, it'll be a sensor, try and find out what the fault it from the ECU

dont know how to mav.do u not have to re set ecu after air filter de cat etc or is that only on bigger engines?

the sitting at 1200 then when warm down to 800 is the auto chock is it not....

as said rab with cone and also decat light never came on...?

i dunno m8..?

disconncet battery for a few hrs then reconnect......let it tick over without touching the peddles...will cough and splutter then settle down..I done it once when i got decat....

think i'm totally wrong here but if you pull one sensor out at a time and "bridge" it wont you be able to find a fault rather than the paperlip test?

obviously just a faulty sensor if the cars running ok??

check your crank case breather pipe bud, mines done this before and found that it had came loose causing the engine management light to come on. theres too much shit in the engine bay of a 1.6 sport like

the 1200 to 800 rpms is to do with egr valve mav put some gasses back in 2 engine to help heat it up

where would i locate that pipe mate ???

cat off sounds sweet on my car bearing in mind i have a str8 through back box too.still have centre section on though.dont want too take it off now as it will affect the noise it has just now
