..of that 76racing Cool Blue racing fuel on Sunday. Think it should work well with my engine.

Anyone used it before? It's 106RON.

Will only make a difference if you can advance your ignition or up your boost to take advantage of its higher RON

Erm.. my ecu has been rewritten to take in more fuel + boost and the induction kit gives more air. Also thought the oxygen content being increased actually works as you have increased the boost in the engine that way.

probably make very little difference unless you increase the boost

Obviously the gains won't be as good as they would be if the ecu had been written to take such a fuel but I very much expect there will be some improvements and the fuel alone would up the boost and make the combustion better.

But if you can add 10% nitromethane at the same time, it should give you a bit more poke...

Patrick - higher RON fuel has exactly the same amount of energy in it as lower RON fuel and doesn't burn any more 'powerfully'. But it is more resistant to detonation, which means you can compress it more in the cylinder (and get more power) before you run into problems with pinking. or melting your pistons

This is the reply I got from 76racing..

Hi Patrick,

Thank you for your query. As you have a turbo car I would feel very confident to say that you will find the highly oxygenated Cool Blue very good indeed. The combustion will be improved as well as the energy levels. As it burns faster it will also improve acceleration. It is difficult to say with how much as it depends on how each engine respond to the Cool Blue. Normally we see good improvements in turbo engines. Obviously the more boost you can give the engine the better it is. The oxygen content actually works as you have increased the boost in the engine.

Good luck!

Cheers/Anders

apparently nitrous formula is an excellent octane booster, and is the one the high tuned skyline boys recommend, in independant tests offered the nearest to what is says on the tin, if your feeling brave use tourine

Am I missing the point but do you not tune your engine first then select the appropriate fuel? Fuel itself is not the modification!

Surely the knock senser will adjust the fueling for the higher octane rating, thus giving more power?
