Well, here's a guide, the Kicker 10" and 12" SoloX each have a genuine 2500RMS power rating.

1. Big subs in small boxes isn't a good idea.
2. Subs in the boot are pointless with the seats up and parcell shelf on

I don't rate amps which have big power 600x2 etc, they are way too inefficient. I have a 60w stereo amp with 3 way speakers and only on half volume they are extremely loud with zero distortion. They are my own design too..

Just my opinion...

U obviously havent heard a good sub and amp combo then mate! Bass frequencys travel through materials better than high frequencys.
Ive got a sub in the boot with the parcel shelf on and it still manages to blow my clothes about.

Well maybe its hard to explain but its sort of like listening to music with ear plugs. All im saying is you won't get as good a result as from subs in a decent sized box firing into open air.

Ive always had JL subs, granted not had other makes but ive heard many other makes and can honestly say the JLs are very very very good, if you are on a budget for fron comps then infinities have served many a person(myself included) on here with no complaints

But focal front comps jl sub and many amps of pheonix gold amps are top of my list everytime

MTX are an American brand, but available over here through BBG. Who also bring in Phoenix Gold, Nakamichi and JL Audio.

As for subs being used in a boot, bass is non-directional and low frequncies just about responate everything in yor car so the sound passes on through up to the listener's ears.

Also, take a look at Rainbow components, are supposed to be pretty good. Also, dont forget the likes of Diamond Audio, Brahma, Genesis, Zapco and Audison
