What in your opinion is the reason to get engaged????

Now, my gf feels a lack of commitment

beats me

So, is basically saying that we should get engaged, in order for her to feel this commitment??? and simply remain my gf!!!!

I feel this is rather shitty to be honest. Getting engaged isnt the problem, i just want things to be right first, and for it not to be simply something to keep us together.

Of course i want to marry her ONE day, but as i said, it isnt the act of geting engaged which is pissing me off to be honest, its the way she keeps hitting me with crap like she doesnt feel that i'm committed, oh and i have to magically make funds available in my bank!!!!!

getting engaged is all about the woman. you have to buy the ring that she wants, she wants the feeling that your hers even more. it's really meningless IMHO. waste of time why not just get married. oh if your lucky you get presents which is nice

Same as mate, my birds up the fcuking duff, we've not been getting and were 'on a break' when she told me, she wants to keep it now, I said 'how the fcuk can u make that decision so easily, without knowing whether or not u wana be with me'?

Why is it that women are so 'dreamy' mention of a baby or marriage and they can only think of the goods things

sounds good to me, if you planning to marry her one day then what's the big hassle of getting engaged to her now? Its not like its legally binding or anything - things won't exactly be different between u, she'll be happier coz she'l no where she stands with you.
