I see your point, but dont really want to do that i have millions of wires going to my battery already. Colul i just put a switch straaight onto the pos. wire from the cig lighter?

why go straight to battery? go to live behind fuse box, or go to live behind radio. i see alarms all the time wired straight to battery etc-dont do it use existing vehicle looms

Fuse box eh? sounds like a plan, so where exactly do i need to look? is my idea not feasible?

not really cuz its risky cuz if u look behind ciggy you'll see three prongs, live earth and switched illumination. id use radio cuz its closer but put 10amp fuse in. or go behind fuse box and use the fuse for reverse lights/ciggy(same circuit). then just have a switch on the positively fused wire.
do not put switch on earth

just do not switch earth
