My grandad got a letter from humberside police saying he was caught speeding in Hull, doing 38 in a 30. This is hes never been to hull!! Whats gone on here ? and whats the best way to approach it

contact them and ask for the photos...or was it a car he recently sold??

Same thing happened to my dad when he got a letter saying he was in Rochdale at a certain time n date -when in fact he was at hime! Turned out he had bought a stolen bike and it was the real owner that was in Rochdale! Ended up both bikes getting scrapped!!

no hes still got the car now, hes like 70 odd and never drives above 30 n e way

Well if your grandfathers car checks out ok they can keep out an eye for the other car. But knowing the police they will probably do SFA

Or as my man said could just be they got the plate wrong on the photo

Id phone them and explain your situation to them, then it the photos check ok - phono the police.

hey mate that happened to sum1 from beverley, she had crashed her car, and got a letter saying she was speedonh 5 days when her car was wrote off lol, it cud be cos the camera misread the number plate or just copied a number plate and stuck it on their car
