Do emergency service vehicles have some sort of transmitter fitted to them to de-activate speed camera's when they go through them?

I saw an ambulence do approx 50mph through one today in a 30 zone & it didn't flash!!

I suppose it would make sense if they did, cos it would save wasting the film & time to check it etc..

It is a piss take really!!... i mean, it used to be 70, & you had cyclists on it too... now they've dropped the speed, its MORE dangerous,, you get knobs dithering around in both lanes, totally hogging it up & then slowing down for the cameras etc.. it's nearly a straight stretch, very nice surface, very safe for 70, yet you head up towards the Rivington & you've got winding country roads with 60mph limits... STUPID!

ye its a very crappy limit. but ive learnt were the cameras are now and know that they put them jst after bends and jst laugh at that camera behind the big green junction sign (next to toys r us i think). it is totally impossible to see until u pass it.

Oh yeah, i know where they are, i pass them nearly every day, but aside from that, the limit is SHITE!
And for the drivers who don't know about the cameras, its dangerous.. how can they be a deterant to speeding when you can't even see them?... That's more dangerous than speeding IMO!...

Nah, i was doing the rite speed, (actually might've been 40, can't remember) but i knew about the camera anyway & it was clearly visible... Just got me wondering if they go off for the coppers & ambulences etc...

no he was saying that he saw an ambulance go thru one whilst it was in a hurry like and the camera didnt flash, so was wondering why not. and if the ambulances have some sort of detector that makes the cameras fail.

but it clearly meant that it had no film in

I thnik there was a bad accident when they first changed it.. Some bird who used to live in Bolton some years ago, was returning & didn't spot the first 50 sign (where it changes from 70-50 from the M66.. just under kearsley roundabout). Anyway, it was raining hard, she was used to the d/c being 70mph, and was doing just over 60.. When she spotted the first camera (which at the time was hidden behind a BLANK sign), she panicked & jumped on the brakes, skidding off the road & hitting a tree...

F*CKIN REALLY ANNOYS ME!!!!
