As subject got about that much to spend on a Turbo car.

Been looking at an MR2 Turbo, but I can't get insured on it due to being an import.

As for it being an ugly car, he asked for a FUN turbo car for that money, not something quick and pretty!! FUN would imply, he doesnt give a damn what it looks like, as long as it goes like stink!

My mate got a GTi-R for under 3k a couple months ago. when i say 3k, paid 1500 for it and spent another 1500 putting it right! Wasnt major problems, just lots of small ones the previous owner couldnt be arsed with. He also has an elise for his main car!(and he's a 20yr old apprentice, he has too much money :@ )
