Finally get to pay the last bit of my car off a week friday and have finally cleared all of me debts

Basically i was gunna sell my car and look at buying another car. I want a hatch and need a sporty model but not ott on tax and insurance, hence looking at a 1.6.

could probably get about 1700 for my car as they go for 2k on autotrader.

got 700 i cud use from my savings but dont really wanna.

* would you start modding the sri and put the c16xe in

*buy another car like a 1.6 fiesta

*save my money for a 2.0 conversion or a 106 gti/frst.....

really aint sure what to do

HELP!!

2.0 Corsas handle fine with the right setup. If they didn't they wouldn't use them for racing (230bhp throttle bodies XE corsas do race, seen on track and on oval racing).

Somebody at work tried telling me 250bhp wasnt possible in a tb`d xe other week, the same one that claimed you could bore to a 2.2!!!! Altho they do all wank over twin carbs!

for the price you'll get for the car its not worth while selling is it. why not check insurance quotes for a 2.0L conversion or a 1.6 conversion.

You can get a fair bit more than 250bhp if your bank balance will allow, I know of one in a mk3 Astra that was getting towards 300 but we are talking mega money(£10k+).

If I were in your position I would drop a standard one in and spend the rest on decent brakes and suspension.

Well

299bhp, no forced induction.
2.1 is the max bore
I want carbs on D4 as they are cheaper. A set for sale at just over £300 on MIg Gutted!!

(Hmmm, 170+bhp for £300, no wires, very neat and tidy (the plan) or 180bhp for £2000, lots of cables, and notsoneatandtidy)

Isn't that keeping the capacity at 1998cc though?

We need someone to do the tp290 kit, make it a 2.1, then stick a further 75bhp progressive nitrous on it.

Bammmmmmmmmmm 12.5 sec 1/4 miles in a N/A =XE corsa. Ahhhh, you can dream i guess

Depends. Alpha system gives 180bhp, but if you just bolt carbs straight onto an XE, then your looking at 170-190bhp, depends how well the engine reacts, other mods, how well its setup.
