You'll now see a list of similar threads at the bottom of each page you're looking at.

If you don't see the list, reload once and it should appear.

Threads with very uncomplicated titles won't have any - the three letter rule applies here just as the Search button.

Most other threads should work well though, assuming the subject is descriptive enough.

This is a server side bit of processing and adds about .3 of a second to your query when you post a message or edit the subject.

Avatars is a bandwidth issue which has actual physicial monetary reasons. Percentage increase bandwidth is very small as this list is just text.

When you post a message the subject is used as a search string of sorts to find other threads.

I would rather have a "recent posts" instead, should list like the previous 5 threads you've posted in, would be good

Hardly makes an indent as the query-cache will fulfil most of it...

If you don't like it, check out a few Help Zone threads. Its invaluable in there.

I'll make it so it can be disabled if required.

The feature of threads you've posted in etc. will follow shortly. This isn't the last word in non-linear viewing.

If you were involved in them then I'd suggest you should have thought more at the time of the side effects of entering such an argument.

Don't forget such things can still be trashed. If a thread has missed administrative attention because it just fizzled away, there's no sense it staying there just because we didn't get it first time around.

Its potentially a useful feature and for that reason I like it. Bad threads can be dealt with and I'd rather they were than loose something nifty.
