Hi, ive downloaded several movies in svcd format. ive extracted the mpegs and am now trying to convert them into dvd format so can record onto a dvd. ive downloaded mpeg 2 codecs etc. The problem is that i get error messages saying that the video resolution 480x480 is not compliant. altho when i watch them on my pc they are 505x379 with an aspect ratio of 4:3. this is the correct ratio as the picture is spot on. altho if i use windows media player it plays @ 480x480.

so basically after all this waffleing on, is it possible to change the video resolution so that i can convert into dvd format and whack on dvd..

greatful for any ideas coz this is doin me head in, cheers

re-encoding them will reduce the quality of the films

why not just watch the SVCD's straight on the dvd player?

will your player read DVD-R's?

it might be locked so it won't read recordable media

no as its not so much the dvd-player itself bu the drive.

usually the only unlocking codes you can get are just to allow multi-region dvd's to be played, but support for DVD-R's & CD-R/W's is a firmware thing, something which you can't really change
