But i mean with the damp weather we have at the mo - and baring in mind i'm no bodyshop expert, but surely spraying in damp conditions as well aint the best thing to do.
And with the shutters open, anything could fly in and land on the wet paint (meaning having to sand down/respray etc)
And i was always told that laquered finishes always come out best when sprayed in a warm environment, then left to dry, again in a warmer that room temp environment.
Ah well, as said before, its the end finish. But it just dont seem like the most organised/professional way of doin things.

well just so you know his background. he has been doing it for 30 year.. and he is only charging me £300 for everything so i aint fussed about a spraybooth!

Yep, but its also a warmer + less damp (if heated) and more manageable environment to under take the spraying in.
Means people arnt accidently going to knock things over/touch surfaces that have just been painted etc.

i was told by 1 sprayer the only reason they have an oven was to speed up the drying process to increase productivity.
C13 wasn't sprayed in an oven & that came out fine

My brothers car wasnt sprayed in a booth, or baked after, and that too came out perfect. In fact, it was sprayed as a first show car for the bodyshop that was just starting up, to get them some advertising, and they had sod all space + money, so they made do with what they had for 2 months.
The oven isnt the be all and end all, but most proper bodyshop establishments usually have a spray booth/oven etc. It does make sense!!

my car was sprayed in a booth but the oven wasnt turned on as my kit is all fibreglass and thats turned out fine

a oven has 2 purposes
cutting every piece of dust out the air so the off the gun final is perfect
to speed up the drying process
