My car pisses me off so much and here's why. sometimes it starts and then goes down to like 100rpm dies and then starts properly the next time. then when its warm and idling, if you rev it, it goes down to 500 rpm and the car feels like its stalling (shakes a bit) then it goes back up to 900/1000rpm like it should be! this really annoys me in traffic and when i park up somewhere and all the people can hear is a rattle insted of my exhaust. Help me, as it really agitates me!

Maybe something to do with the automatic choke, or a sensor of some kind. Maybe temp sensor or somthing not sure just a guess really.

its a 1.0 12v in a corsa b. how much is an idler control valve?

i just had my ICV done cos of that and when itsd hot it wouldnt start, the revs still drop tho, nothin to really worry bout

dont buy a new ICV without cleaning the old one first!
have you got a manifold absolute pressure sensor? The rubber tube leading to mine from the inlet manifold split on my SRi causing similar problems

I've got exactly the same prob wiv my car m8, mines a 1.2 16v, but I've bin told it cud be a dirty idle control valve and they can be cleaned and then they work like new again as long as the valve in't completely nackered, anyway it doesnt bother me on short runs, it only starts to do it all the time wen the engines warmer/hot and I keep stoppin starting etc. in traffic, parking, that kinda thing.

Really annoyin I know, feels as if the cars about to conk out etc but to be honest although it does it, it doesn't really affect me too much.

in the inlet manifold but exactly where depends on the engine

Mine too, I think
I have all these symptoms, but my engine management light is on aswell (on a 1.2 16v)
The car's going in for a service and MOT soon so I'll get the ICV cleaned and the problem looked at further if need be.
