I am after a new car and I have decided to stick with Corsa's, just like them.

The choices are:-
1.4 16V Sport
1.6 16v Sport

The prices for insurance are
1.4 - £130ish a month
1.6 - £160ish a month

I wouldnt mind paying the extra £30 a month (double what I am paying now) over the 1.4 for that extra power. But the problem is the 1.6 sit at around £3000 or more as standard, but the 1.4 starts at about £2,500 as standard. I have this car http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=96666 how much do you think I would get for it privatly?? If I dont get enough from it I will be stuck with it, so honest answer please people, forget the ICE too gonna take that with me, need some tunes if my car is standard looking.

130ish a month for a 1.4??

It would probably be cheaper for a 17 year old living in the bronx with 9 points on his license

Cant get insurance on an engine conversion coz of my age and insurance company, wont change insurance companies because I need to keep my no claims that I am building up.

I asked £3500 because I know people make offers and it seems like a good starting priuce taking into account the book price as standard and then all the mods at about half what I paid.

Is that estimate of £2300-£2500 with or without ICE??

I was hoping for about £2700 privately, what do you think a garage will give me as a part-ex??

What the hell are you on, dont talk shite. I pay £1000 over 12 months at the moment for a 1.2 8v all mods declared, at 18 with 1 years NCB. Thats with Liverpool Victoria.

I thought those quotes were pretty decent really.

Also I dont like the idea of going older than my car is at the moment, want some power and 16v's, also want all electrics and shite.

The work on that flipped corsa dont look too good, look at the meet between the front bumper and the bonnet.

Im not sure where your getting your insurance quotes fella, but they are WELL over the top.

Mind you, at 18, I was payign £1300 tpft, 3 points, no ncb, parked on the road.

Then it went down to £900 FC
then £450FC

then £750 (bodywork)
now £950

You really need to search around more. Fight the insurance companies off each other.

Yes the sport is yet not the GSi.

The insurance I have at the moment is the cheapest I could find bearing in mind I can do any modification and not pay any extra.

I am already with one insurance company, I have paid 3 months of insurance, and working towards keeping my no claims bonus, if I leave I loose the money and the no claims and have to start again. Keeping my 1 YNCB from my first year.

Dunno how you guys are doing it but when I run around 8-10 companies and LV were the best I dunno what more I could do.
