Is there a way of checking the hpi on a car without getting your wallet out? if not what or who is the best to check a cars info with? thnxx

Me and my mate just did a check on an EP3 CTR on www.mycarcheck.com for £9.95

Turns out the car was a cat D write off and its had a colour change.

Money well spent.

good point made but if your travelling long distance to view the car it may cost more than that in fuel.

Isnt there a shit advert that comes on tv saying txt 83600 for a cars past history?? or am i wrong??

Yeah, the car is in Northampton. 458 miles away from here.
The arsehole selling it even knew, but didn't declare it. He even said it was a rare white one even though he knew it was really a silver one.
