 | What do you mean? It is a 6letter registration that can be put on any made after 1999?

 | Not necessarily.
There is no obviously meaning to that plate so could just be a 6 digit 1999 plate.

One way of telling is to compare with what age of Corsa it was on.

For example, if it was on a Corsa D it will be private.

Thats not an Irish reg. Its a UK V reg

Anyway, you're thinking of an Northern Irish plate.

 | V65 ROA is just 64 numbers after V1 ROA.
The likes of V123 ROA is just 122 numbers after V1 ROA.

There are no real private plates, just certain number and letter combinations that happen to be significant to somebody.

So yes, you can (try and) sell V65 ROA, but you'll probably have to buy a new plate to put on your car (I think).

I thought all plates were transferable, but obviously you can't make a car appear newer than it is but putting on a newer plate.

Could possibly only be irish plates that refers to.

I just vaguely remember an old friend trying to do it a few years ago and he was told the plate couldn't be removed from the car.Was all legit with MOT etc.Was just the reg couldn't be transfered to another car.

 | From what I remember reading a while back (so may not be 100% right), if it's the original registration, it can't be taken off and put on retention, it would have to be transferred directly onto a new car but once it's been transferred, it's then able to be transferred to other cars or put on retention as and when you wish.
