  You're going to the wrong bodyshop then   
 
A local place did mine, just stripped down the outer face of the boot and re-painted it as it had been done by some dodgy backstreet place in the past.

i did get quoted £250 to have the rust grinded out of mine, re-smoothed and re-sprayed. 
 
But the other two places were just silly prices

Car just got bk from body shop for the whole side repaired mate i done my bumpers and arches myself at college because im doin body rapir amd paint at college mate not hard to do whem you get the hang of it

Its not hard but you sent it to a bodyshop and you do body repair and paint at college. lol.

Its only my first year lol paint is alot easyier than body rapair ,body repair is an art in my eyes and is hard to get the hang of, but thats why iv chosen body repair for my secound year because i lernt how to spray in a year and once you no how its easy anough
