What machine polishers do people recommend for a novice?

I get the basic idea etc.

And also what polishes etc for a black car?

i swear rich was going to do a tutorial on this, lol

Umm personaly me being a novice myself i'd use a DA pollisher as its almost impossable to burn the paint.
Polish wise not 100% but you need a light cutting compound, then you need a pollishing product then a good wax be it synth or natural

There are more steps but rich will be able to fill you in better

Tutorial is on hold atm. I'm rather busy to say the least! The text is easy enough, it's the pics etc that takes time to get as I need to crack on with jobs atm, not photograph every stage!

Anywho...

Dual Action polishers are my personal suggestion for noobies. Rotarys are a different kettle of fish and aren't as easy to grasp the basic principles of to achieve a good finish with (time for plenty of people to say otherwise lol)

Therefore look at Porter Cables, Ultimate Detailing Machines (both from US), Meguiars G220, Kestrel / Clean Your Car dual action polishers and also the newly released Dodo Dual Action polisher ( I can get these in )

Will need to work out suitable pad & polish combo for your car, working up the scales of cut rather than jumping in at the most aggressive level.

Personally not used it as it's literally only just come out in last fortnight or so.

Is a very capable unit from what I gather; will be replacing my 3 yr old US imported UDM soon with one

Comes complete with storage bag, spare brushes (for future servicing), ventilated backing plate, choice of D Loop or side handles and tools (ie. backing plate spanner etc) Is £89.95, so will just need to purchase pads then (can't help there I'm afraid) Postage on this will be £10 for courier.

2 different handles that come with it:

I don't know for definite as I don't own any of them, I'm just supplying info and pics that came through on an email from Dodo to me a fortnight ago

Look very similar to me though, so wouldn't be surprised.

Read my answer fully and you will see the answer. Only hint will be that German paint is very hard so will require a lot of work. Menzerna polishes were designed for German paints.

Sorry, but please stop asking questions I've already answered. Kinda pointless me putting in the effort to reply to questions when they aren't read properly.

Can't supply pads. Polishes - only ones I can supply atm is Dodo Lime Prime which won't correct a Golf.
