Sense i sold my corsa, and own a mk5 astra cdti 150, i have decided i really fancy a proper mini, does anyone have any experiance with them, what to look out for etc ? cheeeers

Check the sills and subframes for rust mate along with pretty much everywhere else The sills and subframes are the main ones though. The door skins are prone to rust as well as the scuttle panels. Other than that just check it over like any other car. They are great fun if you get them right though!

i have seen a few cheapish ones, as i dont wanna spend alot, i fancy it as a nice small project to tart it up and stuff

How much you get for Corsa mate? What did you sell it like? Standard ish??

As for Mini's, mainly rust as said, eats away at every singe bit of them

got 650, back for 9it in the end, with out an engine, standerd suspeniona nd crappy alloys,

great little motors, as everyone said check for rust EVERYHWERE, just remember that its an old car, there is no brake servo, window wipers are crap, they dont hold that much petrol, cant have much of a sound system, there are random rattles all over the place

but even saying that i would have one in a heartbeat if i had the money

your not really going to get a nice tidy mini for little money, either save until you can get a mint one or go down the project route

i have got a mini mate but check every where for rust and take a magnet with u to check for filla hers a pic of mine

its been said chek for rust everywhere, and remember its a mini everything is easely replacable if you can weld. drop the old lump and ether get the gt engine or a mgf gt 1.5 engine and it will be a bit of a hand full. You can get an awfull lot of upgrades for it and there is a large fan base for info and help.

That red mini is mint, i really want one i the future to restore and i want to do a beatle aswell.
