Yes, the Laguna was a cat C write off when I bought it.

how badly would a car need to be damaged to be a cat c?

depends on the age of the car. for example a corsa could be a cat c write off if all the locks need changing for whatever reason

Badly enough to not make it worth while repairing, so it'd depend on the value of the car. Could be not a lot, ask the person selling it for more info.

It's bad enough buying one someone has driven before without them having crashed it as well.

if a car cost £1000 to buy, it'd need to have £600 worth of damage to warrant being written off.

not a lot when you think about labour costs, paint costs etc.

my corsa was a cat c, needed a new wing, door, rear 3/4 filling a bit and new front suspension on passenger side.

didn't cost much to fix on your own, but a bodyshop would charge a fortune for that.

my clio sport was a cat c earlier on in the year, all it was was a few dents in the door and the wing( plastic) was all cracked
nothing major at all and they did her as a cat c!

My corsa was a cat c with tailgait smashed, rear pannel bent, bumper bar bent and rear bumper, sometimes you just cant see where they get the crazy price's they quote..
