I had a new tyre fitted and the tracking done on my car the other day. £55, not too expensive.

Job got done, I was driving it home...heard a knocking from front right wheel, I thought wtf? got the car home, was only a 30 second drive, jacked it up, they only left the bolts half tightened

loool, cowboys.
anyone had similar experiences?

The owner is a drug dealer anyway apparently.

Won't go there again though, will pay the extra cost to get the job done properly.

definitely and had I not known that a knocking wheel usually means it's falling off I could have got hurt...and got compensation maybe? Imagine all that drug dealer compensation monies...I shouldn't have touched the bolts and kept driving until I crashed

You might not have got compensation. They might have "silenced" you

lol, good point.

I couldn't be arsed to go back and have a go at them for not doing the job properly though. Then they would have loosened some ARB bolts or something. Badgers

I'll hear the knocking before it falls off, quickly jack it up and tighten em all. Cba to mess about with it for no reason, I do plenty of that as it is, got work in 30 mins as well, lol

most if not all garages do tell you either in writing or by word of mouth to check the bolts yourself after a certain amount of miles.

the garage i go to always have a little notice on my receipt telling me to check all my wheel nuts after 25 miles.

i got a new tyre at the weekend and have done over 100 miles now and still haven't checked

Never had my wheels taken off for tracking they've always lifted my car up on a 4 poster.

Where do they put the laser if the wheel isn't on?
