They are cheap. I loved the interior, nice looking car all round really. Shame a lot of them suffer from the cut out problem, because of that I'd wary of any really cheap ones... in some ways enjoyed mine more than my 182

Even the 180 is slow IMO, my dad has one and its nothing special. Nice seats, thats about my favourite part about it.

My 206 had the cut-out problem and my god it shit me up at the best of times.

Being a 1.4hdi and having to plan an overtake.....then overtaking and no power is pretty scary stuff!!

Yup loosing power steering whilst going round roundabouts was the worst for me, nearly fucked me a couple of times! Real shame... did like that car.

I had a 206 GTi and thought it was really good. For £1300 I can't see you being disappointed.

Ive owned both 138 and 180. Both very underrated cars and absolute bargains for the spec levels, A/C , climate control, leather alacantra.

For all the people saying the 138 is slow, its not fast but with 138bhp and weighing 1040 KG I wouldnt call it slow, My VTS was the same speed in a straight line and also the 306 GTi 6 was on a par and they are often praised to the rafters. Good handling bit of bodyroll as standard, cheap to run, great on fuel and fairly cheap to insure.

The 180 is definitely a step up over the 138. Handles brilliantly, sits flat as a pancake through the corners, the only downside is the teeth and back jarring firm ride, which is a fair trade off for the cornering ability. Performance is a step up again, 7.4 to 60, half a second slower than a clio 182 to 100 mph, wouldnt say it was slow. Great traction in the dry can use all the power. Only downside is the narrow powerband, starts pulling at 4000rpm and peaks at 7000 rpm.

The downsides are group 17 insurance which is to be expected for a car in that sector of the market, and its very thirsty on fuel due to the short gearing. I went for a 180 as they are a lot rarer sight on the road, compared with the cliosport which you see everywhere
