Oh yeah, probably seek out a new VF28 turbo as I think it's a little noisy - maybe just being paranoid though.
the p1 i built for my mate had it mapped by Bob Rawle - he's running 402hp IIRC and that was coming up 2years ago now. good map
Very nice cars too, he has his on a set on 18" prodrive wheels (same as standards)
Looks like a good car

Awesome that matey!!! I loved my old P1!! Like you say, all you need is some DEFI's to keep an eye on the oil situation and watch the boost!! A knocklink and Id change the MAF as well just tto be safe!!
The IHI VF turbos do seem to be noisy. I bought mine with 15k on it and it was noisy! Does it do that wind down noise when you switch off?

Wrighty - unsure of the spec on it, will dig through the paper work and have a look.
Stu - definatly going to get Defi's, probably knocklink too. MAF has just been changed but I'll be keeping an eye on it!
Yeah, it does wind down when you switch it off - it that normal? Getting paranoid about it now

Good test for the MAF is get the car running then unplug it..........if the car dies then the MAF is ok. If the car doesnt die then the MAF is fooked! If it doesnt die then the engine has "learnt" to live without it but can only compensate so far which usually means dangerously lean fuel mix!!!
Yep, like I say my turbo did it for the 20,000 miles or so that I owned it, even from really low miles!!! Still managed to pull 300+bhp on every set of rollers it went on and never used a drop of oil!!!

its bollox that stu, its no sure fire way of testing wether its ok or not. i got a right lecture of a technical guru about this but i now no longer run a MAF sensor.

Its a good way without actually measuring the MAF signals! If the MAF is bollocksed and has been for a while then the ECU will learn to run without it and compensate!! If you unplug and there is no fluctuation in revs at all then at least it gives you an idea there could be an issue! Obviously there will be better ways to test it but not when your tool kit stretches past a Halfords 94 piecer!

Will probably change the MAF soon anyway - looks relatively new and the old one is in the glovebox still...
I might throw the airbox in this weekend and see if that calms down the whining noise - cone seems to amplify the noise.

Welcome to the world of scoobs! I did the same jump from corsa to scoob. Its hard to stop moding them though. Mine now has a 20g turbo on. Yours looks a lovely example too. You should definitely get the 18 inch p1 wheels if you change them, no others! Also I can understand you wanting a quieter exhaust, my blitz one is too loud.

it needs paint and then mapping.
it might come out to play in spring well i hope.
