It's a 2006 plate car.. it is debatable because im still stumped after reading on the replys.. this kind of topic makes a very good debate as everyones replies are all interesting to read..
I do admit £618 is affordable but its hopefully a one off payment, wheras insurance will hinder me for a few years if i claim
But i will only be paying £250 excess on the face of it

Out of interest then how old are you ?
I know of one member on here who wrote a car off in an at fault accident and his insurance has hardly changed. He's 20 now and not paying much more than he would have been.

Doesnt matter! The tit who pulled out infront of me at the begining of the year couldnt give me his insurance details at the scene so I just phoned up my insurers and gave them his numberplate.. They simply gave me all of his insurers details..
MID FTW!

Get a quote with you in the situation next year with a claim and without a claim and see if the difference adds £600+ to your annual policy ? If not how much. Remember to correct for inflation etc but if your going to be paying out more on next years renewal go through insurance tbh. Oh, and use confused, it will give you a much better idea across the board and be easier to change the details.

It will affect his premiums for more than a year though.. I would imagine the claim could cost in excess of £1000 over 3 years.

Confused say £2,000 without a claim (im currently paying £1,400 annually!)
Confused say £2,300 with a claim
Next year £1,200 without a claim
Next year £1,600 with a claim
I think the raise in price since june (when i took my quote out) is enough to avoid making a claim.. 2 grand is stupid
