If you have driving convictions but got them before the age of 18 does the conviction stay on your license for the same amount of time as it would for someone over 18? Someone at work said it would be less but just wanted to clarify it, and does anyone know where I can get this info from? Thanks.

Yes, 4 years for license, 5 years for insurance.

They are foolish and spouting nonsense Mister haas.

It's the same for eveyone. The endorsement counts legally for three years from the date of conviction but cannot be physically removed until four years from conviction.

This is fairly academic though as the majority of insurers will ask you if your license has been endorsed in the last five years at least.

The only time where the effect of endorements on a license varies is with new drivers. They max out at 6 points before a ban unlike everyone else where it's 12.

Ive always wondered how insurance companies can find out of you have been banned or not? As iirc points and bans are only logged with the court who issued them and the dvla just act like a printer. So unless insurance saw the licence, would they be able to find out?
