bought a tyre off there, fitted it the weekend and its got a bulge in the sidewall..

i soon took a picture and got intouch with him and paypal, he asked for a picture so i sent him 3 for proof, he said he will refund me the money when he gets the tyre back (which i chucked in the bin as thats all it was worthy of) plus it cost me £8 for a courier to collect it and he wasnt going to refund the courier cost or pay for the courier to send it back..

now hes saying hes a tyre fitter by trade and all this bollox, why the funk didnt he spot the big bulge then, literally i have just said to him, its your neck thats on the line when selling items, so its up to you to check the item before selling anything, totally against ebay rules selling faulty goods..

not sure what can happen now tbh, should i get back in touch with paypal?

This is part of the reason I'd never in a million years buy anything but brand new tyres.

I'd rather have wanlii ditch finders than a part worn.

Agreed, tyres aren't something I'd skimp on (not saying you did) I'd rather buy brand new tyres everytime.

I've bought second hand tyres on wheels before now if its clear that the wheels have been upgraded.

Wouldn't fancy buying loose though. You don't get bored of tyres and change them. If its come off a car, its because its goosed.

Just start a paypal dispute mate. They nearly always side with the buyer so you should get your money back easily enough.

You getting a tyre fitted with a buldge in the side is as bad as him selling a tyre with a buldge.

I don't skimp on rubber since almost killing myself on budget tyres when i had the Corsa. It may be £60 - £100 per corner but your life is worth a lot more!!

it didnt show up untill i had it fitted and pumped up, which made the patch (bulge) where its weak to push out..

i mean even if i could see it before i had it fitted (which i obviously didnt) its still damaged, and under faulty ebay goods..

you should get your postage costs back if you open up a dispute?

as for part worns, some people change tyres half way through their life (because of the increased braking distance). the tyres are still fine and have half their lives left so nothing wrong with that.

i do buy brand new now though, only bought 1 part worn on my corsa which turned out fine.

Budget tyres aren't as bad as people make out.

People who say they crash because of budget tyres just can't drive.

Although they might not be anyway, knowing the limits are reduced then still crashing is a bit stupid.
