Hi

I have a Corsa B 1.2 16v (chain driven) on a W reg. i was wondering how easy and if possible is putting a 1.6 16v engine into it? what do i need, are the engine and gearbox mounts "simillar"? if you could help me that would be AWSOME

First off you will need a 1.6 Enfine...with all the ecu,looms,brakes etc

why not just sell the 1.2 and buy a 1.6 sport. much easier and you get the full sport interior, electrics, etc....

much easier surley?

Engine conversions are only really an option if your engine is knackered, you have spent a lot on bodywork already, or want to get a non standard engine (ie C20XE/LET)

I've just bought one for £250 with inlet/exhaust manifolds ecu loom mounts etc... So under £300 really... Plus labour?

if you get a donor car for the engine take the interior loom as well as the 1.2 16v ecu is mounted on the engine and means you would have to pull all the wiring through

look for a 1.6 thats been breaking for spares you will need bigger brakes the exhaust is differant and the mounts are differant again
