I'm on the lookout for another corsa but a C this time and I was wondering if anyone has any views on them.
I need to know there common faults and niggles if there are any.

gear linkage is a common one
04 and onwards had a wiring loom recall (some did catch fire)
engines are really tapetty
best versions are the 1.4/1.8 sri's usually more toys on them (1.8 also quicker obviously)
try and look for ones with good service history, most around these days have been a bit mis-treated as ther dime a dozen

My 1.2 16V SXi will be up for sale in a week or so. Just over 30K, FVSH and probably the cleanest you will find!
Bit far away though!
Problems as Steve said really, mine also had an ABS module recall around 18 months ago iirc.

my brother has a 1.2 16v y reg c. comfort model.
nice little first car. nothing gone wrong in the 7 months or so he's had it, and he thrashes the balls off it eveywhere.
engine makes a funny buzzing noise when driving it though, probably because it's so weedy as my old corsa b sxi was the same.

I've actually found one I like and made an offer but just worked out that its 450 miles away (about 13 hours down there and back non stop) and would cost me £250+ to go and get it and drive it back up the road

there okay cars at first, good for a runaround but easily boring after a while. overpriced tax imo... well for a 1.4 anyway! light on the steering, dosnt go around corners great...but as i said - ideal runaround maybe.

Tappets get noisey, gear linkage and stearing rack are commons problems.

If you have one go for either the 1.2 (for economy) or the 1.8 (for a bit more power).
Knowing my old 1.2 c and my mates 1.4, mine was just as nippy as his but always way better on fuel. All the downsides of more performance, without any more performance
Standard for standard, its a massive step up from the Corsa B, better ride, more comfy and way better interior.

According to Parkers (I couldn't remember the original figures) the 1.2 came with 78bhp and the 1.4 88bhp.
1.4 was also 65kg heavier so, experience aside, I'd say there would be next to no difference in them.

The 1.2 Twinport is surprisingly nippy for what it is. enough go (just!) to keep up to normal speeds on roads and pull away from lights etc easily. Never bothered caning it as literally no point!

I got a 12v corsa b for my first car, loved it. Then bought a 1.2 sxi corsa c on a 53 plate. TBH I f**kin hated it, couldn't have had a worse car, build quality is shocking IMO compared to corsa b's
And they're twice as hard to work on and modify! Ended up selling it at a loss of £500 in a month! And carried on driving my 12v.
Now drive a 1.4 sport,pre 97 P reg and I love it

Think this guy ^^^ has just about summed it up, the build quality is appauling. Changing headlight bulbs is nigh on impossible with out dropping the front bumper and tbh the handling is not good.
Things to watch out for are the ABS recall (was done twice by Vx), the gear linkage can go redularly and the steering rack is supposedly also prone to dieing (to the sum of 550 quid). Also i dunno if it was just bad luck but my wiper linkage seized, which is quite bad on a 5 year old car.

Disagree on the build quality tbh. Feels a million times better built than my old B!

I drive my gfs 53 plate sxi 1.2, I think it is really nice to drive/very easy, interior is nice and a big improvement over corsa Bs, prefer my sport though .
Its not the tappets that get noisy is the timing chain tensioner.
