Another one is the Hankook RS2's. I think its only camskill that sell them in the UK though. Track compound on a road tread although not great in the wet as its hard to get heat into them.

Its to do with suspension geometry, its tyre scrub radius etc.
Tyres have more grip when slightly wheelspinning or slightly skidding (ie understeering not braking).
Try it on a back road, if you have a FWD push it to its limits round a corner and just when its about to noticeably understeer, you will feel the front end dragging in, its quite exciting

It does make me chuckle when people bring up the subject of KU31's, everyone who's had them on a AWD/RWD car will rate them, people with FWD cars slate them and then the people who have never had them or are tyre snobs instantly shun them because of the name "Kuhmo".

Lets be honest though, A Corsa with its inspiring chassis isn't really the best test for tyre capabilites. Most tyres will seem shit on a Corsa if you hurl it round corners at 100mph and expect it not to go straight.

they are ment to have a mush harder side wall then for example the toyo tr1's so maybe that could have something to do with it being gets on rwd and 4x4
tr1's were nearly dangerous, but they are fine on the van
