B17G, the chin turret was added later in the war as Luftwaffe fighters discovered that by attacking the B17 head on they could inflict maximum damage and get away without recieving a scratch, in some earlier B17's they had put a hole in the nose cone so either the navigator or bombadier could move then single 50cal from their positions in the nose and combat it but this was ineffective and very cumbersome.

Tell that to the airmen sat in that flying metal tube being fired at by 20mm shells with no armour protection.

tbh, that battle in star wars is no walk in the park. try getting attacked by imperial tie fighters in a "piece of junk" even if it can do the kessle run in 12 parsecs!

fantastic effort, would love to get over to the US to their museums as they have loads more aircraft than we do. still the fortress wasnt a match for our mighty Lanc.

I used to polish boats, up to about 60-70ft long
