Received the V5 this morning for the bike, got the new keeper to sign it and I sent it off, but its untaxed so Ive just gone to SORN it online, and you cant do it without the V5

Says I should have an automatic £80 penalty and could have a CCJ for £1000

Now, I want to ring up and declare it SORN, even though it isnt mine anymore, but obv my details will still be on the database. It had no tax when I got it. I want to ring up and see if I can declare it SORN, but if I do I'm admitting that it should of been SORN'd ages ago and as yet I have received no penalties or anything

What should I do?

Ive just sold the bike so ive given him the New Keeper slip and Ive handed the V5 in to the DVLA to go through internal post so its quicker for his details to get registered

I completely forgot about it, up until 05 October the old keepers details were still on there and by the end of this month it will be the new keeper, so I might escape.....
