I never really monitor it tbh, I expect I usually go over it. How could it void it? They don't ask you your car's current mileage when your renew? And it's only an estimate anyway

first car question, but it got me thinking why would people be putting more down, if it increases insurance quotes and if its just an estimate, why dont we all just put 1000. know what i mean. i thought you were covered for those miles, and anymore you will have to let them know.

When I was messing about with quotes it was more expensive to put 1000 than 2000 anyway. I put 8000 usually

Similar, i think mine is 12k but on nearly 24k now. Thing is the policy wasnt started when i got the car and a few other's have used the car on their own insurance policy. To be honest it's a pointless thing to ask (unless of course you crash 100 miles from home and say you were on the way to work or something)

I always put 5K

The only company i've had ask was Flux when i had the XE Corsa.

Never had a standard insurance policy ask for the milage of the car.

The lad down the road always put's 1K miles per year. he does about 500 a week

i went over mine last week.

they can only void the insurance if they knew the mileage on the car when you bought it so if you buy a car from new then for the 1st year they'd be able to find out if you went over it and had an accident.

it's just a rough estimate, that's all.

i'm down for 7k this year and i doubt i'll even do that many miles so it all averages out.

15k a year on my policy as I do 250miles a week for work. Think I do around 300/400 miles a week so should be safe

I always put down 10k. Doesn't seem to affect the price though.
