Well finding it a bit hard to decide what to do. Passed my test in May and got myself a 1.2 N reg corsa b.
Was a great first car, Smoke grey,colour coded bumpers,gsi spoiler, subtle side skirts and in overall good condition. Needed a little tlc here and there like a new bonnet as the lip was rusting and a few scratches here and there but nothing that would be a pain to sort out. Had big plans for it just to keep it looking subtle and when i got a few years no claims down to upgrade to perhaps a redtop. In that time the plan was to get the exterior looking sweet.
Then about 3 weeks after i passed things got a bit shitty. Some complete arse drove into my car while it was in a carpark and drove off leaving the panel above the drivers side rear wheel arch badly dented. He drove off and despite a witness leaving the guys reg the police said they could do nothing. Then about a week later a guy in a transit didnt stop at a red light and went into the back of me. In all fairness the chap was sound and addmitted fault but they wanted to write my car off which i wasnt going to let them do so i settled for a cash to forget the whole thing.
So basicaly these little jobs that needed doing where now big jobs that i cudnt justify spending so much money on and just totaly lost any enthusiasm for the car and drove it to work and back without giving it another thort.
Then a friend of the family wanted this old fiesta off there drive as it was there sons and he had moved out and just left it there. I went to have a look just out of curiousity and couldnt believe the condition it was in. Its like a time warp, no rust,scratches wear or tear to be seen. Mk2 1.1 with 30K on the clock. I asked how much would they want they said make a small offer, i said £100 half joking and they said yep!

So i started to ignore my corsa completly and was only really bothered with the fiesta. Took it foe its MOT and it sailed through with no reccomendations even.
Then spoke to a friend of my dads who said he would spray the new bonnet i have+ the gsi bumper i have in primer+ fix the bodywork for £150 if i supplied the paint which i already have. Ive seen his work and its excellent. I got qouted 500 for the dent above the arch alone at a garage.
So now im tempted to get the corsa how i orignaly wanted it but need to really get shot of one of the two as i really cant run two cars. I want more power eventualy, was thinking of puttin a 1.6 zetec lump in the fez but cant justify ripping out an engine that has just hit 30k. Fez needs no work at all and is pretty special where as the corsa needs plenty of work and is common as, but i really would love to get the corsa to how i wanted it originaly and as my first car i have a real soft spot for the thing.
Apologies for the large post but would like some opinions on what i should do as im been pestered for the space on my drive so i really got to make a decsion quickly!

30k or not, it's still a 1.1. Scrap the Corsa, sell the fiesta for a profit and buy the car you really want.
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Go with your instinct mate. You keep saying you realy wanted the corsa all along, and you love it, so youve realy awnsered your own question without realising it
Get the fez onto pistonheads and some ford forums, in mint condition like that your sure to get a good profit on the mere £100 you paid. Then you can pour the cash into a nice corsa project

Keep the fez and run it during he summer! spend the 150 on the corsa and use it to work and bck, winter months etc like u say there common as! Wee fez's that mint are rare as u like!Keep it

mines was a 1.1 pop , with pepper pot alloys,homemade rollcage & strut braces, K&N filter, and a cherry bomb exhaust, cut springs, bought xr2 kit from a scrappies, but ended up putting it over a ditch in a field in winter.

But yeahi no the fiesta makes sense really
a_i_mare the insurance gave me a cheques for about the same as i would have got for writing it off so i did alliright out of it really, saved the car been written off at some point in its life as i would have vrought it back anways as i didnt have the fez at the time. + i would of come of worse because id have to get the corsa looked at to get it back on the roadf again which would of cost out £80 so im told.
