whilst down at Knockhill on saturday watching my mate race in the Scottish Saloon Car Championship (in his 600bhp escort cossie), i was really taken in by the XR2s. i ve always loved a mark2 xr2 since owning my first car (1.1 mark2-xr2 rep)
but i was wanting to know what sort of rules apply in this class,as i gave up on building my nova track car and fancy starting on a xr2 for this class. My mate was unsure of what was allowed to be done to them.

i love how their races are so close due to all having the same power!

A few folk on TS have done the series in the past, or still do. Maybe ask on there.

yea, got a mate who has a mk2 XR2 and a mk4 XR3i. he is heavily into the XR Challenge series (obviously), and has various bits on both his road cars.
The engine can be blueprinted, and is allowed an uprated downpipe and exhaust. Ashley exhausts make specific 'Challenge Systems' for both cars which make a massive difference tbh!
The cars are also allowed suspension tweaks, and most of them use GAZ coilover set-ups.
They also MUST have a cage.
Its a proper budget series, so they try not to enforce too much, but do enforce restrictions to keep it as such...which is why you arent allowed to go overboard on engines.

It does say all that stuff
It may not say that exactly...eg blue printing, it says the maximum engine cc.
