Recently posted about my XE corsa being finished. Now it comes down to everything being legal. Could of just kept driving it as a 1.4 sport but im not keen for getting humped by the federals! So ive read in the conversion guide that you need to change your V5 doc (change engine number and cc of engine) this is fine, the car is then registered with the 2L in it. But what about when you come to insure it? can you just go ahead and type in your car REG and insure it and everything is fine and legal, or do you have state that a non standard engine has been fitted? Just asking because when i say that its had a non-standard engine put in, the price soars......considerably.

Any help on keeping everything legal would be gratefull. Cheers

Of course you have to inform the insurance about the change of engine. It is a modification.

Cheers thanks, reason i ask is my parents arn't to keen on the idea of the corsa project in regards to the legality of it, so to keep them happy and myself out of trouble just like to know everything that needs to be done. Anything else? Does it effect your tax, if so how much?

It will affect your tax as the car is now a 2.0. so £102 quid for 6 months and 190 quid for 12.
