hi...
getting quotes on a 06 reg bmw convertible for about 350-400 quid last month
come to buy one, and cheapest i can get it is 600-800 now
anyone else had similar issues? stupid insurance

Nup, my renewal came through, more than I can get a quote for online nut not too bad, and I still have my driving other cars extensions on it which I was worried about losing

Moral of the story...ring up and confirm the quote before buying a car.Get them to honour the quote for a month etc

IIRC some sort of tax has risen which is associated with insurances, and most will be passing this on to its customers. Ive got a letter somewhere from our insurance bloke who explains it all so will try to find it and post up what it is exactly.

cheers cosmo, just done 2 lots of house insurance last week and this had stayed the same, googled it and found nothing

Yup, last month got a quote on a Nissan Figaro £400, this month £650+

Edit; I was going to get one but put the missus on the insurance as her cheapest quote was £1000+

It's mainly for the missus, as she has a clapped out Ford Fiesta at the moment, she has set her eyes on this Figaro or one of them Dihatsu Copens? What about a Susuki Cappchino(sp?) there under 1litre aren't they?
