few weeks ago had letter off dvla saying i owed 80 quid fine and back taxes on a car i scrapped. one i wrote a letter with and sent off all documents etc.
well i wrote a letter explaining how they were wrong and i had sent everything and today the sent back a letter............
no further action will be taken. amazing. first case in history of the dvla not trying to steal money off innocent people. might write to the sun or daily star.

had that happen to me aswell and they dropped the charges. i told them.

few people i know had to pay and were threatened with all kinds of court action. i was expecting the same.

Had the same when I wrote my car off but they tried to fine me for not taxing it despite having earlier sent a letter saying I was no longer the registered keeper.
You would think with computer systems these days problems like this wouldn't happen.....

i just wrote a letter saying how it had been scrapped ages back and was disapointed i was being charged and got told it had been dropped.
no apology for my wasted ink though.
