It used to be £5 a tyre to fit them at my local place. Since people started getting tyres off the internet (ie - not from the place they get them fitted) it's doubled in price. This is over the course of not even 3 years, where's the sense in that?

we charge £6+vat valve and balancing at our place but we dont charge a scrappage fee
if someone turned up with their own tyres and expected service to fit them for £6 a tyre im pretty sure they'd get told to gtf
£6 a tyre doesnt justify the cost of the tech
not to mention 2+ tyres ties up a ramp then aswell

exactly. its taking up space and time that could have made the business more money from another sale when someone fetches their own tyre in and expects it to be done for cheap.
people that say why should the public pay more are idiots. they simply dont understand how business like a garage works.

£60 is a bit dear. I know that when I've needed tyres putting on and pulling off for painting I've paid a lot less. Usually do the job cash in hand with the fitter as they're friendly at the local ATS - slip them £10-£20 and they've done it.

Oh, it helps to go when the place is quiet. Weekday mornings are good. Don't go on a busy Saturday afternoon and expect them to do it for free
