Bascily bought an escort as a replacement for my corsa back in may... was in a hurry to get a car and escort was the only decent car i could find.. never could get used to "more door".. but was loving the power it has ( going from 12v to 1.6 ) i knew i wouldnt make it to uni this year so wasnt really bothered about running costs BUT i did make it to uni so decided to downgrade to something more economical. 30 mpg in escort is no fun

looked at numerous corsas(cracked a bumper while went to view one- low post i never saw), went to auctions - all cars had massive dents or major rust....

was really pissed off at all this car search thing especially after i spent a week driving round yorkshire looking for a car for my mum...

so anyway the car i got - i always liked suzuki swifts- don't know why - just did... saw one advertised on AT...

advert said:

72,827 miles, 3 Door Hatchback, Blue, Petrol, Manual, Central locking, Electric door mirrors, Front electric windows, 9 months Tax, 11 months MOT, good tyres, fantastic condition in and out, Used daily so very relieble, very economical on fuel and cheap to insure, would make an ideal 1st car or runabout. £850 ONO.

called the guy and went to see it. clean inside it's not outside better than most 2k-3k i saw last week!

has bucket seats as standard which i like!
got it for 700 which i thought was good.

some pics from ad:

our fleet at the moment - thats with my sisters car not there

will get some more tomorrow after i finish cleaning it inside! done the front and it started raining. got more dirty cleaning the interior than putting old exhaust back on the escort escort is back to standard and just waiting for the bumper to go on and its ready for sale!

sorry for an unexciting thread but hay ho im bored!

New car times?

So new car then? I have no idea why everyone feels the need to add 'times' on to the end of things, seems to be the latest craze.

Everyone seems to have a photo album on facebook called Good Times or Drunk Times.

Back on topic, you should just buy a decent car mate. £700 isnt a good price for that to be fair.

i looked at corsas and for that kind money there were just crap.. my corsa with 105k miles sounded/looked better than those '99 corsa's i looked at... i really wanted a corsa, but all the good ones near me seem to go for 1k+... it seems as if all decent cars got scrapped and shit cars werent accepted for scrappage scheme
