They are both Isuzu! Top one is the newer 1.7 found in mk4's and bottom one found in Mk3's.

This is the Vaux 1.7

1.7dti is a great engine. older mk4s had the TD which wasn't too good when it comes to reliability and smoked alot for a standard engine.

From what I can remember, I was told to go for the DTI version, As its a modern engine.
