fad: yeah old fords in malta are really cheap to buy but then many people restore them and get them in mint cond.
e.g. last week i went to see an Escort MK1 3dr. €200 with no engine! still thinking about it though as i have a mint 1.6 (bored to 1760cc) on webbers lying around in the garage hopefully a new project soon.

Yeah I think the warm climate and lack of salt on the roads means they stay mint where as over here they rott!

Occasionally I see that Perfomance Ford features of Classic Ford Rally's in Malta makes me want to go

They are 2 different styles. I tend to appreciate original classics more, rather than modified classics. Plus my father bought that car brand new 39 years ago... would be blasphamy if I had to turn it into a racing car

Lol, gotta say I'm not a fan of this kind of thing myself. Modified classics, yes, but I'm not that interested in that sort of thing.

Saying that, I'm in no way saying it's a crap car or anything just my personal opinion. I can definetely appreciate the care that the car's received though, it looks brand new.

Yup, I can defientely see the appeal in doing it though, having a car that old in such new condition is almost surreal in a way.

Is it anywhere near concourse condition?

Colin and Alan: as you said, the aim of it all was to be left as close as possible as it was the day my dad picked it up from the ford dealer.
moreover, it would need to be a 3dr to be nicely modified as a racing car.
