i have a 1.6 sport this eco vavle is fucking me off it makes so much noise sounds wank and so many people tell me to take it out and bin it? is it really worth it if so how do i go about doing this?

What do you mean by eco valve? you on about the SAI? thats attached to the manifold?

Piece of piss to do,
Take your heat shield off, take everything associated with it off and chuck it in the bin.

The make a blanking plate with some metal and bolt it on and use some silicon as sealent.

I used the little gasket as a template and cut some 1.6mm sheet to shape with some tin snips.


Its an easy job.

Its the SAI (Secondary Air Injection) valve, there is an air pump on the right hand side of the engine, when the car is started from cold it forces air into the manifold to help warm up the cat quicker..

It isnt required for emissions in this country.

Its only there for cold start emissions tests, we dont do them in this country.
