400bhp Impreza 2dr vs 500bhp R32 GTR.
obv the Impreza is lighter (or it should be !) but how light do you think its possible to make it
I tried to keep up with the GTR on track when the Impreza was 280bhp and there was simply no chance. There is a vid on YouTube ( TrackScotland channel, Impreza v Skyline... i cant link and PooTube is firewalled).
In all reality the Skyline will prob be nearer 600bhp with the new engine, so I'm going to fighting a losing battle unless i can get the bloody impreza near 1000kg or something

I'd still say the Skyline, although the subaru won't be far behind it if it's lost weight since. Could all depend on driving conditions and the condition of the cars on the day aswell I suppose.

Very different styles....
She is smoother, but prob more cautious.
So... I think she is a 'better' driver on track, but i'm quicker.

If the Impreza is as stripped out as the GTR then I honestly think it'll have it on a track. Unless it's a track with lots of straights and very few corners.

ahh.... good good. Seems I have been underestimating (or over if you think about it) the Impreza's potential weight

Andy who i bought my simtek off had a saloon down to 1128 with 638bhp but another chap said you can go even lighter then that without going too extreme! so guessing as yours is a coupe, you could get it lighter.

Spec......
Forged 2.0
Lumpy cams
GT Headers and uppipe
3" downpipe and sys
AFP TD05 20G
Greddy FMIC
PowerFC
Still need to source a boost controller and injectors/fpr.
Thinking going for 700cc injectors leave plenty of headroom for E85 and the future.
Will prob just get it fitted and mapped on standard 440's for now though. Iron out the niggles and what not with 350ish bhp before going for 400+ and a broken gearbox

sounds good, not far off my spec but i arnt forged yet. got a block to start though.
filter
zage td05-18g
gt specs ceramic coated
3' turbo back
hybrid fmic
walbro 255
area 52 740'cc's in billet rails/parrallel mod/fuel lab reg
pulleys
5.4 kg flywheel
simtek
avcr
maybe worth doing the parallel rails as a safety mod so no.3 doesnt lean out on the straight/long runs

You should ash harvey smith about a turbo as imsure andy's are about 1100 all in. Even though it says 800 on his site. Got my headers from him too and he wrapped them. Very ood service. My turbo was 850 from him. I run 550 injectors but are maxed out so you will need more than 550's.
