Likening someone with a disability driving to eating a sausage roll whilst driving. Having a disability is not a life sentence and if they can, they should be allowed to do anything we do. My friend has cerebal palsy and has no use of his left arm and a club right foot. He recently passed his driving test, the EXACT same test that we sit, with 4 minors, using the adjustments designed to aid disabled drivers. His accelerator pedal is on the left, he drives an automatic and has a little handle on his steering wheel with buttons for lights, window washers, indicators etc. It doesn't distract him because he learned that way, however, I'm sure if he decided to chow down on a sausage roll, he'd get in trouble also, as it would distract him just as much.
Also, some people with Down Syndrome are not as badly effected as others and are able to work, drive and live just like everyone else.

I'm not on any form of high horse, I just found that a crap thing to say! Just maybe be a bit aware of how the things you say can come across on a forum. I do apologise though if it came across that I was up on some high horse.

it can be read wrong easily, the way your sentance was formed made it seam like you we're liking eating a sausage roll to being disabled.
and if you pass the test who cares what disability you may or may not have.
its fuking old people who we should be worried about.
there should be a mandortory driving test for over 60s

people not supposed to be driving *ie injured/on medication but do anyway are the ones that piss me off.. aswell as over/under confident drivers ie boy racers and doddering old people.

Definately Pip, all of the near misses I've had have been with elderly drivers, it scares me how bad some of them are. After all these speed camera's etc they are impimenting as a means of road safety(alledgedly) it suprises me that they haven't come up with a mandatory re-test after a certain age.
