i cant get mine off, because i cant hold the top and undo the nut at the same time. any suggestions??

no its not posible as it has the cup type ends

Either use and air gun (easyest way) or use a ring spanner on the nut and some mole grips on the end off the shock

or just leave it off, as the one's that bolt onto the rear shocker top's do absolutly nothing

Rear braces are no good, they tighten the arse end up too much causing skipping imho
