Trade in my Ibiza FR for an E46 3 series coupe?
Ibiza is 06 plate, 60,000 miles, due a service and requiring a few bits and pieces done. BMW giving me £5500 for it.
Coupe is 04 but on 43,000 miles, 12 months mot, 6 months tax, 1 service free of charge. cost to change is £5500.
Opinions please

Have you thought about the extra running costs of a BMW?

I'd do it but not for a BMW.
You're paying 11k for a 5 year old pretty basic beemer.

I'm looking at getting rid of my 56 plate FR and I've been offered a lot more (privately) than you've been offered there. I've done less than 1/2 the miles you have though

I have, the cost of change isn't really an issue tbh. Tyres will be more expensive when the time comes, there isn't a great difference in insurance and fueling it won't be too bad as I won't hammer it to the same extent I hammer the Ibiza.

Yeh, also there is a bit of work to do on the ibiza. Im not handy with spanners and generally can't be arsed learning so could be pricey. Service is required now, so thats a few hundred quid, cv joints could do to be done, discs and pads on the front and two tyres.
Tbh I just want to change the Ibiza and I have always loved E46 coupes

Fair enough, the Mk4s do seem to vary massively in price

Yeh, auto trader can leave you believing you can demand a large amount for one I reckon £5500 isn't bad considering the car isn't in top notch nick and has done a few miles now. I still like it, but just want a change tbh

AT is full of traders thinking they can get about 2k more than the cars worth! Or traders thinking Mk4 Fr's cost over 15k new!
