Right, Being 18 i only have one car and have lobbed the back seats etc
just wondering if taking alot of the plastic out and shit will make it un bearable as my everyday car
dont do much long distance driving so thats not a problem im just wondering if it will become a cunt to live with
who else has their normal car as a track car?

I'll be doing the same when I've bought the buckets and harnesses, until then I don't see a point in me taking the rest of the interior out just yet.

Its a right ballache, the novelty wears off after a month or 2 and you end up pissed off with a rock hard ride, noisy en route, ugly interiour and lack of carrying capacity then you bung everything back in.
You should spec a car in favour of the how you use it the most. ie if you track a car more than you drive it on the road then a stripped out stiff setup would be favourable but if you use the car as your daily driver and do one or 2 trackdays a year in it then stripping it out is foolish.

I guy I know off uses his every day, but what he does/done is strip all the sound deadening off the floor, roof etc, but keep all the carpets, panels, etc. So when hes going to a track day he just whips the interior out the night before, prob takes him less than an hour these days to strip an Ibiza completely just leaving dash, drivers seat and front door cards (sometimes takes those out too!)

well it is. why bother putting it back in. or ask if it would be unbareable. some people might not like it others do. its a daft question really.

When i went and picked up a axle i removed the back seats and parcel shelf. And the noise difference was shocking. It wasn't unbearable but couldnt believe how much louder it was.

How many times a year will you actually be on track? Few hours every few months!? Fuck having to live with a cold noisy rattly car for that!!

I've had my car stripped out for well over 12 months now, it's fine to live with, it's a bit loud on long journeys but it doesn't bother me, turn the music up a bit and you don't think about it.
End of the day tho, you'll either be like me and could live with it and you'd be perfectly happy or you'll be like some other people in this thread were you'll be sick of it and put it all back in after a few weeks. Only way to find out is to try it

As said above I've had mine stripped out for well over 12 months, it's been on track once for about 15 mins but it's never been any colder than when it had an interior (apart from if you catch you arm on the bare door on a cold day ) and because I've took most of the interior out there's nothing left to rattle

It must be colder, ulsess your car somehow defies the laws of physics
I wouldnt put up with it, not for a 15 minute punt on a track anyway. Whats the gain?

An obvious difference in handling is the main one.
I don't see what you have to 'put up' with tbh, a slight rise in noise levels is the only disadvantage I've noticed which as I've already said doesn't bother me. When I first did it there was a slight space advantage too cos we didn't have a van at the time so everything got chucked in my car instead.
